MAYAN CRYSTAL SKULLS
Ancient Mayan culture
still flourishes in Guatemala
The ancient civilization of the Mayans was once one of the most advanced cultures of the ancient world.
The mysteries of the Mayan Pyramids, Mayan Crystal Skulls and Mayan Legends have endured for millennia. Skulls were
prominent in ancient Mesoamerican artwork, particularly among the Aztec art and religious symbols, so the connection between these artifacts and these
civilizations is apparent. A renewed interest in Mayan culture, particularly regarding the Mayan Calendar and ritual
artifacts like the crystal skulls has begun.
The story of Creation according to Mayan culture plays an integral part
in daily Mayan living. They were regarded to be famous astronomers. The Mayan calendar started on August 13, 3114 BC
and the ending date is calculated as December 21, 2012. Mayan scribes left manuscripts, called codices, with many "prophecies",
particularly about solar eclipses. A legend was transmitted in Central America for
a very long time. Both the Mayas and the Aztecs believed that the world had already been destroyed four times and that we live here under
the fifth Sun. It was predicted that the end of the fifth world would happen because of Earth vibrating and shaking (due to possible inversion
of the terrestrial magnetism, a change in the earths magnetic axis). Then all life would disappear.
Many people wonder today, what the ending of the Mayan calendar means for the Earth and what the year 2012
has in store for humanity. From the times when people inhabited twelve planets, there were thirteen
crystal skulls left. Those inhabitants left them to people of Earth. Atlantes had left them to the Mayas.
According to the Mayan Legend, there will come a time when these 13 ancient crystal skulls are reunited, that would reveal information
about our origins and have a positive effect to our Earth and the course of humanity, and how to avoid future catastrophes.
Guatemala may contain some of the most authentically preserved Mayan sites, including numerous Mayan
pyramids and temples. While other Mayan pyramids in Mexico may be more popular with tourists, the Mayan pyramids
like Tikal can act as a portal to take you back in time.
In closing, the year 2012 marks the birth of a great transformation for consciousness on Earth.

The Mayan and the Amethyst Skulls
Two examples of primitively sculpted skulls are a couple called the Mayan Crystal Skull and the Amethyst Skull. They were discovered
in the early 1900s in Guatemala and Mexico, respectively, and were brought to the U.S. by a Mayan priest. "Nick" Nocerino claims
he met a shaman in 1949 while traveling in Mexico who then led him to a Mayan priest who said he was authorized to sell the
skulls because the village needed money for food. Nick didn't buy them, but he scientifically studied them. The Amethyst Skull
is made of purple quartz and the Mayan skull is clear, but the two are otherwise very alike. Like the Mitchell-Hedges skull, both
of them were studied at Hewlett-Packard, and they too were found to be inexplicably cut against the axis of the crystal.
Modern crystal sculptors always take into account the axis, or orientation of the crystal's molecular symmetry, because if they carve
"against the grain," the piece is bound to shatter -- even with the use of lasers and other high-tech cutting methods.
